Once the membership application and annual dues ($35/calendar year) have been submitted, the procedures are pretty simple.
We are a networking group for individuals associated with the real estate industry, so attending the meetings is a vital part of membership. We meet every Tuesday morning at Rivers Edge Restaurant in Tumwater. The meeting begins at 8:05am, but the doors open at 7:45am for networking opportunities and for breakfast. There is a $7 meeting fee (which includes coffee and juice) each week or 15.00 for a full breakfast buffet. Meetings usually last until about 9am, and from there the group leaves to go on a tour of homes that are currently listed by members. The tour is a great time for networking on a more individual basis as people usually carpool. Tour can last up to 90 minutes, but is often much shorter depending on how many homes are on the tour for the day.
As for marketing your business during the meeting, there are a couple of ways to do it. Every meeting, we have a portion of the meeting that we call “Wants & Needs”, when each member is given about 30 seconds to stand and let the group know of any wants and/or needs they have. This is also the time when you introduce yourself to the group. Members can also share flyers with the group (usually about 70 copies will do) and those can be distributed to the tables before the meeting begins. We also have a segment that we call “3 Minutes of Fame”. As a member, you can pay a $5 fee to be able to highlight your business in front of the group with a 3 minute presentation.
I hope this brief overview of the MLSA procedures is helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!
Right here on this page there is a link for a membership application that you can fill out and bring to the meeting to join. You may also come to your first meeting for $7.00 meeting fee which includes Coffee/Juice or you can enjoy breakfast for 15.00 and can be a guest to see if this is a good fit for you. After your first visit, we do ask that you become a member to come back.
